Lip on seal for microwave heated sample holder vessel directed outwards

A tub-shaped vessel (6) holds solids or liq. samples which are evaporated within an assembly (1) for analysis by a microwave heater (2). The vessel (6) is secured by a holding unit (4) within a heated space (3) and is covered by a lid (22) through which passes a suction pipe (9) from the vessel inner space (31) to a suction assembly (7). The novelty is that a lip seal (36) is arranged between the vessel (6) and the lid (32), the lip (36a) of which is directed outwards. The seal (36) is a one-piece unit fixed either to the lid or the vessel. The width of the groove (39) in the lip seal is 1 to 3 mm. The tub sample vessel (6) is made preferably of PTFE/Teflon, TFM, glass quartz or ceramics.
