INTEGRAL CYLINDRICAL CYCLONE AND LOOPSEAL

A cyclone separator for a solids-laden process gas from a reactor provides a pressure seal for the reactor. The cyclone includes a main housing (1) with a longitudinal axis (30). The housing (1) is made of a membrane wall (50) having a plurality of tubes (52) arranged around axis (30) and encased within membrane wall (50) panels. A portion of the tubes (52) are bent outwardly to form an inlet (2) communicating with housing (1) for receiving the process gas from the reactor. Solids are separated from the process gas in the housing (1) of the cyclone separator. A partition wall (7) is disposed at the lower section of the housing (1) around axis (30) defining outer and inner chambers (22, 20). Gas is provided to the outer and inner chambers (22, 20) for creating fluidized beds therein. Solids pass from the inner chamber (20) to the outer chamber (22) through underflow port (10) and from the housing (1) through overflow port (11).
