<p>To produce a hardened lead battery electrode, the solids dissolved or suspended in the electrolyte during electrolytic lead separation are built into the lead matrix, thus also achieving shaping through the suitable design of the cathode. The electrochemical cell consists of a cathode and a Cu/Ta/Pt anode and is operated at a current density of 100 to 2000 A/m<2>. The electrolyte, which contains PbO, Pb(OH)2 or PbCO3, is considerably agitated by the injection of air. An HBF4 solution and lead, lead-containing waste and/or desulphurised lead battery electrolyte paste are used to produce the electrolyte.</p> |
