DIE CUTTING DEVICE WITHOUT PATCH-UP SHEET

A die cutting device having a sheet of resilient material, such as urethane rubber, placed between the upper and lower platens. The ability of the resilient sheet to be nonuniformly compressed acts to eliminate any unbalances between the steel rule die and the counterplate, thereby eliminating cut lines which do not completely perforate the cutting stock at certain points. Use of the present invention eliminates the preparation time previously required to prepare a patch-up sheet for each steel rule die.
