This invention provides a discharged ink treating method for destroying or dispersing ink deposit created on a discharged ink receiving portion side, by the use of a mechanically operated member. A method of treating discharged ink from an ink using portion using liquid ink has the step of destroying or dispersing ink deposit created in a discharged ink path along which the discharged ink passes from the ink using portion to a discharged ink receiving portion and on the discharged ink receiving portion side, by the use of a mechanically operated member. <IMAGE>
