The present invention relates to a repulpable laminating adhesive which contains an elastomer, tackifier and a 5:95 to 100:0 by weight blend comprising a high molecular weight oxygen-containing polymer and a wax. The oxygen-containing polymer is preferably of the formula A-B(I) wherein A is represented by a unit of the formula <IMAGE> (IA) and B is represented by a unit of the formula <IMAGE> (IB) and further wherein R and R1 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a C1-C10 alkyl group; R2 is hydrogen or a C1-C5 alkyl group; x is greater than or equal to 1 but less than 70; and y is between about 0 to about 45; provided the weight percent of B/A+B is between 0 and 50 percent and the molecular weight of the A unit is less than 2,000.
