PURPOSE: To limit the quantity of tissue to be damaged by light, by continuously refocusing the light to a spot in the matrix in accordance with a prescribed pattern, destroying the matrix tissue whose volume is roughly equal to the refocused volume and, at the same time, approaching the refocused spot to the volume of the destroyed matrix tissue. CONSTITUTION: At the starting point 42 in a matrix 22, a laser light is focused on a spot size 32a to activate a laser unit, whereby the volume of the matrix tissue 22 is destroyed and removed when the spot size 32 of the starting point 42 is irradiated. In the result of the aforementioned, a by-product material forms a cavitation bubble 36a in the matrix tissue 22 and the laser light is redetermined its position so as to focus on an other point 48a. The refocusing point 48a approaches the starting point 42, and the point 48a and the starting point 42 are positioned on a course 50. To make a space between the starting point 42 and the adjacent point 48a which are positioned along the course 50 smaller than the diameter of the tissue volume to be destroyed so that the tissue volume to be successively destroyed in the matrix 22 overlaps each other. |
