PURPOSE: To provide a cutter quick change system capable of easily replacing a cutter. CONSTITUTION: A tool spindle 14 has a drive plate 12 on which a cutter 10 is mounted. Drive keys on the drive plate 12 engage slots in the cutter 10, thus the cutter 10 rotates with the drive plate 12. A clamp bar 44 is provided at the end section of a clamp rod 48 to clamp the cutter 10 against the clamp plate 12. The cutter 10 is provided with notches which register with the clamp bar 44 when the cutter 10 is rotated relative to the clamp bar 44 by the prescribed angle, thus the cutter 10 can be removed from the drive plate 12 when the notches register with the clamp bar 44. When a new cutter 10 is rotated in the reverse direction into a position in which it may be clamped by the clamp bar 44, the clamp bar 44 is held by a spring 62 in the clamping position. |
