PURPOSE:To provide a pneumatic radial tire with which the reduction of tire weight and the low fuel consumption can be accelerated, by reducing the thickness of the rubber layer of a side wall and improving the cut resistance. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire T has a tread 1, side wall 2, bead 3, carcass 4, and a belt 5, and mounted on a standard specification rim 6, and is charged with a standard internal pressure. The thickness (t) of the rubber layer 21 outside the carcass 4 of the side wall 2 is set to 1.6mm or less, and on the plane including the tire revolution axis, the acute angle theta1, theta2 among the angles formed in crossing between the flange end straight line D and the tangential lines P1 and P2 of the outer surface profile 22 which passes through the crossing points E1 and E2 where the outer surface profile 22 of the side wall 2 and the flange end straight line D extended in the tire radial direction from the tire axis direction outer end point 62 of a rim flange 61 is set to 30 deg. or less. |
