THINNING PROMOTING AGENT FOR POLYESTER FIBER AND ALKALI THINNING PROCESS

PURPOSE:To obtain a thinning promoting agent for polyester fiber effective for promoting the alkali thinning of especially modified polyester and to promote the thinning of exclusively a modified polyester in the alkali thinning of a fiber structure composed of a modified polyester and an unmodified polyester with the thinning promoting agent. CONSTITUTION:This thinning promoting agent for polyester fiber is composed of a polyhydric alcohol ethylene oxide adduct obtained by adding >=2mol of ethylene oxide to a polyhydric alcohol. An alkali thinning treatment is performed after impregnating the thinning promoting agent consisting of a polyhydric alcohol ethylene oxide adduct in a fiber structure composed of an unmodified polyester and a modified polyester obtained by copolymerizing 2-15mol% of a 3rd component to polyethylene terephthalate and heat-treating the impregnated product at >=100 deg.C.
