PURPOSE:To obtain an antiviral agent containing a specific thiadiazole deriva tive or its salt as an active component and effective for the prevention and treatment of viral infection of man, especially human immunodeficiency virus. CONSTITUTION:This antiviral agent contains a thiadiazole derivative of formula I {n<1> and n<2> are each 0 or 1; W is O or S; R<1> is H or an alkyl; X, V and Z each is H, a halogen, an alkyl, CF3, an alkoxy, OH or nitro; Y is O, S or N-R<2> (R<2> is H or an alkyl); A is NR<3>R<4> [R<3> and R<4> are each H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, a group of formula II (R<5> to R<7> each is H, a halogen, an alkyl, etc.); R<3> and R<4> together form a group of formula III (m<2> is 0-2; E is CH2 or O; R<8> and R<9> are each H or an alkyl), etc.]} or its salt as active component.
