PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high preservability and high sensitivity by adding a quaternary ammonium salt to a thermal recording layer containing a specific electron acceptive acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer is formed on at least the single surface of a sheet like support and contains a colorless or light-colored electron donating color forming dye, 4,4'-bis(p-toluenesulfonylaminocarbonylamino) diphenylmethane being an electron acceptive acidic substance reacting with the dye under heating to allow the same to develop a color, at least one kind of petroleum type wax such as paraffin, polyolefin, microcrystalline wax or the like and methylolated fatty acid amide. Herein, the thermal recording layer contains a quaternary ammonium salt. As the quaternary ammonium salt, for example, there is dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride and this compd. is compounded with the thermal color forming layer in an amt. of 0.1 pts. by wt. of the total solid of the thermal color forming layer. |
