PURPOSE:To provide a composite sliding member having a backing metal and a Cu-Zn alloy layer joined to the backing metal with sufficient adhesive power and a process for producing this member. CONSTITUTION:This double layered sliding member has the backing metal 4, a brazing filler metal 3 joined to the backing metal 4, a diffused coexisting layer joined to the brazing filler metal 3 and the Cu-Zn alloy layer joined to the diffused coexisting layer. The diffused coexisting layer is a layer where >=10wt.% Ni, components of the Cu-Zn alloy and the components of the brazing filler metal coexist. In addition, the layer has a thickness in a range of 5 to 300mum. |
