PURPOSE:To realize high speed outputting of image by a method wherein ion generating source, to which specified positive or negative voltage is applied to the ground potential of an ion printer, is provided on the case of a corona discharger. CONSTITUTION:In an ion printer, in which electrostatic latent image is formed by ion flow, ion generating source, to which 1KV or higher positive or negative voltage is applied to the ground potential of an ion printer, is provided on the case of a corona discharger 7. Since 1KV or higher positive or negative voltage is applied to the metallic case of the corona discharger 7 under the condition that no rise of the discharging voltage develops in the corona discharger 7, the ion flow lost through the metallic case is decreased, resulting in increasing the efficiency of utilization of ion and output potential and realizing the high speed and highly accurate outputting of image. This is due to the decrease of the percentage of ion, which is not utilized effectively through the flowing of the generated ion towards the metallic case, and to the increase of the ion flow obtained from the outlet of the corona discharger 7. |
