PURPOSE: To continuously produce a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin article by continuously adapting a thermoplastic resin to at least one surface of a heated fiber mat core. CONSTITUTION: A fiber mat core 12 fed from a roll 10 is continuously supplied through a preheating oven 14 to be heated. The preheated fiber mat core 12 is next sent to a range coater 16 and a first molten thermoplastic resin 18 is bonded to the fiber mat core 12 during movement in the coater. Subsequently, the fiber mat core 12 and the molten resin 18 are sent to an extrusion zone and a second molten thermoplastic resin 20 is extruded to the fiber mat core 12 through an extruder 22 during movement. The fiber mat core 12 having the first molten thermoplastic resin coating 18 and the second molten thermoplastic resin 20 is subsequently sent to a compression mold 24 and subjected to compression molding to become an article 26. |
