PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition high in dielectric constant and Q value, stable in temperature characteristics, small in the temperature coefficient of electrostatic capacity, and comprising the composite oxides of main components comprising one or more kinds of Ba, Vd, Ti, Zr and Sn and Mn as metal elements, the components being compounded with each other in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:This composition is represented by the composition formula: xBaO.yNd2O3.z[(1-c)TiO2+cMeO2)] (wherein x+y+z=100, 0<c; Me is one or two of Zr and Sn, in terms of the molar ratio of the metal elements) wherein (x), (y), and (z) are in a range surrounded with A, B, C and D in the figure. The composition contains Mn in an amount of 0.01-0.5wt.% (converted into MnCO2) based on the main components, contains Na in a total amount of <=0.10wt.% as an impure component, and has a dielectric constant of >=50 at a measured frequency of 1MHz and an electrostatic capacity temperature coefficiency Tcc of 0+ or -30ppm/ deg.C. The composition is produced e.g. by mixing the oxides of raw materials, calcining the mixture, grinding the calcination product, molding the ground product, subjecting the molded product to a binder- removing treatment, and subsequently sintering the treated product. |
