PURPOSE: To fix a molding ring to a socket to allow the same to function as a reinforcing ring by supplying the molding ring to a mold and forming a part of a mold surface by the surface turned toward a pipe of the ring and placing the ring in the socket at a time of the formation of the socket and detaching the ring along with the socket when the socket is detached from the mold. CONSTITUTION: A molding ring 12 is placed inside a mold main body 4 in order to form a socket 7 to the end of a plastic pipe 1 and the mold main body 3 is positioned. Thereafter, the end of the plastic pipe 1 to be molded as the socket 7 is heated to be inserted into the mold 2. The heated pipe end is expanded until the wall of the pipe reaches a mold surface 6. After molding, the socket is cooled and the mold main body 3 is detached and, subsequently, the socket 7 and the pipe 1 having the molding ring 12 on the outer surface of the socket 7 between grooves 8, 9 are detached from the mold main body 1. Thereafter, the molding ring 12 functions as the reinforcing ring of the socket 7. |
