1,093,735. Sawing. CINCINNATI MILLING MACHINECO. April 27, 1966 [May 24, 1965], No. 18539/66. Heading B5L. Apparatus for cutting cloth has, on each side of a cutting blade 61, Fig. 2, endless bands which may be moved in unison in one or other direction respectively towards and away from the blade. The blade is circular in cross-section and has small barbs around the periphery to cut in any direction. In operation, cloth 35 is laid over one or both belt conveyers, which together form a movable work table, and the blade 61 is reciprocated, and may also be traversed along a pair of screws 62, 63 which are rotated by a motor 64 and a shaft 65. Motors 64 and 41 effect traversing of the cutter and movement of the belt conveyers under the control of a data tape. As described, the conveyers comprise flexible endless bands 21, 22, received on guide rolls 17, 18 and 19, 20. Each band has a flexible endless belt 29 with teeth secured along the inner edges of the bands. The teeth on the belts attached to bands 21, 22 are respectively engaged with teeth on drive pulleys 23, 24 which are respectively mounted on driveshafts 25, 28. The drive-shafts 25, 28 are rotated in unison in either direction by the motor 41 via chains 43, 44.
|
