An improved automatic guiding arm having a deformable hinged frame-like construction (13) controlled by an actuator (22). The end of said construction supports a pair of guide wheels (28 and 29) in a V-shaped arrangement. The wheels are mutually pivotable about a stationary shaft and controlled by a control device having an angle control member (27) hinged to the actuator (22). Said actuator controls the angle of the wheels and the tilt of the arm assembly, as well as an automatic wheel angle control device operating as the arm is moved up or down. Said arm is useful for automatically steering a public transport vehicle.
