The grass collector is formed as two shells (4,5), which define between them the volume available for holding the grass cuttings. They can be separated, one from the other, as required for the operation of emptying the collected cuttings. One shell (4) is mounted between two posts (2a,2b) and is held in position by means of two stops or hooks (6,7). The second shell is hinged around a horizontal axis (6) to the upper part of the first shell. The two halves are linked together by connecting rods (10), which are fixed rigidly at one end (11) to the upper shell, while the other end (12) is attached to a pivoting handle (13). The handle has a cam shaped base (14), which is compressed into a groove (15) in the surface of the moving shell, to retain it in position. |
