PURPOSE:To keep and control the transmitting light quantity by providing such a constitution as being capable of controlling the convergence into the light transmitting aperture of the receiving-side optical fiber smaller than the end surface transmitting aperture of the transmitting-side optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Ferrules 2 are mounted on a transmitting-side optical fiber 1 and a receiving-side optical fiber 4, respectively, and connected to an optical fiber connector 3 by screwing. The light emitted from the transmitting-side fiber l is formed into a parallel light by a movable lens 5, and further converged to the end surface of the receiving-side optical fiber 4 by the movable lens 5. At that time, the image of the core of the fiber 1 is formed on the end surface of the receiving-side optical fiber 4. When the magnitude of the image at that time is set smaller than the core diameter of the fiber, all the light can be transmitted into the core of the fiber even when the position of the core is slightly shifted. This can be realized by use of a combined lens or concave mirror. |
