OPTICAL TRANSMISSION CABLE BROADCASTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To provide an optical transmission cable broadcasting system which adopts video/on/demand (VOD) service without performing a large-scaled change for a conventional broadcasting type optical CATV network, is capable of easily constructing an optimum network constitution and is excellent in an extendability. CONSTITUTION:This system is an optical transmission cable broadcasting system distributing/transmitting to many subscribers, optical reception parts 1006a to 1006h corresponding to each subscriber are divided into groups of a prescribed number, and each of optical modulation parts 2002a and 2002b is connected with/inserted into the side of the input of the optical branching device of each group. Selection/multiplexing parts 201a and 201b provided for every group receive all VOD transmission request signal 203a and 203b within the corresponded group, selects a pertinent video signal from a video signal source 1101 for VOD and multiplexes within a VOD band. The optical modulation parts 202a and 202b of each group convert these frequency multiplexing signals into optical signals and outputs the signals with the optical signals from an optical transmission part 1101 to each of optical branching devices 1004a, 1004b.
