PURPOSE:To prevent glowing of a surface from which a substrate is removed on the periphery of an image display part so as to make liquid crystal images easily visible by providing the front surface of a thin-film surface part formed in the image display part of a silicon substrate with a light shielding plate having the same aperture as the aperture of the image display part region. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal panel 9 has the thin-film surface part 7a formed by removing the part corresponding to the image display part 8 of the silicon substrate 6 formed with a thin film 7 including electrical elements. The front surface of the thin-film surface part 7a is provided with the light shielding plate 10 having the same aperture 11 as the region of the image display part 8 or the aperture smaller than this region. For example, a non-light transmissive substrate having the aperture 11 and a non-light transmissive substrate formed with a light shielding layer having the aperture 11 on a light transmissive substrate are usable as the light shielding plate 10. As a result, the irradiation of the surface from which the silicon substrate 6 is removed on the periphery of the image display part 8 with the incident light from the front surface of the liquid crystal panel 9 does not arise and the visibility of the liquid crystal images is improved. |
