PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display element which is improved in a visual field angle by partially changing the intensity of an electric field impressed to a liquid crystal, has the wide visual field angle and is simple is production and easy in driving without supplying driving signals of respectively different voltage values to the respective divided electrodes by dividing the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Electric field adjusting particles 10 which are different in at least either of specific resistance and dielectric constant from an orienting material of an oriented film 5 formed on electrodes 3 of one substrate 1 are dispersed and mixed into this oriented film 5, by which the impedance between the substrates 3 and 4 of both substrates 1, 2 is varied with a region W1 corresponding to the parts of the oriented film 5 where there are no electric field adjusting particles 10 and the region W2 corresponding to the parts where the electric field adjusting particles 10 exist so that the electric fields of the intensity varying according to the differences in the impedance are impressed to liquid crystals 9 even if the voltages to be applied between the electrodes 3 and 4 are the same in the entire area between the electrodes. |
