PURPOSE:To lessen a damping factor of a current flowing through a superconducting magnet and further to prevent occurrence of quench by a method wherein the self-inductance of an arbitrary persistent current circuit switch element is made a prescribed multiple or below of the self-inductance of another persistent current circuit switch element and connection is made in parallel while a connection resistance is made a prescribed value or below. CONSTITUTION:In regard to a parallel type persistent current circuit switch, the parallel type persistent current circuit switch is formed by connecting in parallel persistent current circuit switch elements 71, 72,...7n of which the ratio in the amplitude of self-inductance is 1.2 times or below. Thereby a current is dispersed equally substantially in the initial stage wherein the current starts to flow through a superconducting magnet 6. Although redistribution of the current occurs since the connection resistances of the discrete persistent current circuit switch elements 71, 72,...7n are not identical, the connection resistances of all the persistent current circuit switch elements 71, 72...7n are made 10<-12>OMEGA or below and a time constant at the redistribution of the current is made large. |
