PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of extending the variable range of the size of a dot in order to form a multi-level and high-quality image. CONSTITUTION:Even though a laser beam L1 emitted from a 1st LD 1a is made incident on a prism 14, it is not deflected and passes there. Meanwhile, the laser beam L2 emitted from a 2nd LD 1b is made incident on the prism 14 and deflected, and becomes the same optical path as the laser beam L1 from the 1st LD 1a when it is emitted from the prism 14. Thus, the 1st and the 2nd LDs la and 1b select a light source to be used by turning on/off the switch of the light source. Furthermore, the laser beam diameters of two light sources are made different to change the control range of the quantity of light emitted from two light sources. Thus, the variable range of the size of the dot is extended. |
