PURPOSE:To prevent distributed software(SW) from being illicitly used and to know an outflow route of the SW even when the SW is illicitly used in an SW distributing method for ciphering plural SW, storing the ciphered SW in a recording medium and then distributing the stored SW. CONSTITUTION:A user identifying information storing area for individually storing information for identifying each user is previously prepared and plural software to be ciphered and distributed are stored in a CD-ROM 2 being a recording medium and then distributed. A pass-word obtained by synthesizing a decoding key for each software and user identifying information and ciphering the synthesized result is given only to a user allowed to use anyone of the SW, and when the CD-ROM 2 is loaded to a personal computer 3 and the pass- word is inputted, a decoding program 6 is started and the SW corresponding to the decoding key is decided and the user identifying information separated from the pass-word is written in a user identifying information storing area for the decoded SW. |
