<p>PURPOSE:To reduce current consumption at the random access of a semiconductor memory constituted by making a processor and a large capacity memory into a chip. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor memory consisting of a memory array divided into plural sub-arrays and plural processor arrays PE has a word line driving system consisting of a main word line driving circuit for selecting a main word line MWLX passing on the plural sub-arrays, a sub-word line driving circuit SWDX for driving a sub-word line for the sub-arrays, a sub-array selecting circuit SLX for selecting one of plural sub-arrays, and a control circuit for controlling data transfer between the processor arrays PE and the memory cell array. In the case of accessing the memory cell array at random, only a sub-array to be accessed is selected, and in the case of transferring data among the plural processor arrays PE and sub-arrays, all sub-arrays connected to the processor arrays PE are selected.</p> |
