PURPOSE:To control carrying speed in a fixing unit to be an optimum state and to form an image by providing a means for detecting the loop quantity of a recording medium and controlling the speed of rotations of the fixing unit with a signal from the loop quantity detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The loop quantity detecting means 25 has a loop quantity detecting lever 24 taking a slave action with a supporting point 251, one end of the loop quantity detecting lever 24 is made to abut on the recording medium 108 and the other is provided in proximity to a photodiode 23. Therefore, the loop quantity detecting lever 24 is displayed by the loop quantity of the recording medium 108, so that the output (detection quantity) of the photodiode 23 is changed. An analog signal outputted from the photodiode 23 is digital- converted by a digital circuit 26 based on the signal of the change by the photodiode 23 and processed by a CPU to control the driving motor 111 of a pressure roller 115 in the fixing unit 113 and its rotational speed. |
