摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To uniformly control the liquid crystal thickness of an active matrix type liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device has a flat panel structure formed by joining a TFT substrate and a CF substrate to each other via a prescribed spacing. Pixel electrodes 4 and thin-film transistors(TFTs) for driving 5 are integrated and formed on the main surface 3 of the TFT substrate. Counter electrodes 7 and color filters 8 are integrated and formed on the counter surface of the CF substrate. A liquid crystal layer 2 is held between the main surface 3 and the counter surface 6. The warpage direction of the CF substrate is previously measured and the side having a projecting surface shape complementarily matching with the recessed surface shape appearing on the main surface 3 side of the TFT substrate is selected as the counter surface 6. The counter electrodes 7 and the color filters 8 are formed on the selected counter surface 6. The TFT substrate and the CF substrate are joined in the state of disposing the main surface 3 of the recessed surface shape and the counter surface 6 of the projecting surface shape so as to face each other, by which the uniformalized spacing is formed between both.</p>
