<p>PURPOSE:To lessen the number of manufacturing processes by forming a prescribed pattern on a substrate by sublimation transferring method for a sublimating compound and then converting the pattern into an electron emitting part composing thin film material to form an electron emitting part composing thin film. CONSTITUTION:A transferring body 8 consisting of a substrate 9a and a sublimating layer 9b is closely attached to an insulating substrate 1 on which element electrodes 5, 6 are formed and heat is applied in a pattern by a thermal head 10, etc., from the body 8 side. Consequently, the sublimating compound is sublimation-transferred in the pattern while bridging over the electrodes 5, 6 and thus a thin film 7 is formed. The film 7 made of the transferred sublimating compound is then heated and fired to form a patterned and electron emitting part composing thin film 2 and then electric communication treatment, so called forming, is carried out to form an electron emitting part 3 with changed structure at the position of the film 2. As a result, the number of the manufacturing processes can be greatly lessened and the cost can be remarkably lowered.</p> |
