PURPOSE:To exactly execute edge correction and to reduce a size and cost. CONSTITUTION:This laser printer has an ftheta error correction function to change the number of pulses of a printing clock for outputting one dot of image data according to the output region in a main scanning direction and an edge correction function to add the prescribed number of pulses according to the inclination of edge parts. The laser printer described above is provided with a number-of- pulses storage means 32 in which the number of pulses for one dot set in correspondence to the output region is previously stored, a conversion information storage means 33 in which the conversion value of the number of pulses for increasing and decreasing the number of pulses to be added by the edge correction in accordance with the number of pulses for one dot corresponding to the output region is previously stored, an output region deciding means 31 which decides the output region and a light emitting data forming means 34 which fetches the number of pulses for one dot corresponding to the decided region and the conversion value of the number of pulses out of the respective storage means, forms edge correction data from this conversion value and the number of pulses added by the edge correction and forms output data from these sets of the information. |
