PURPOSE: To optically inspect a radiation transmissive object by use of a device having an optical element. CONSTITUTION: Regarding the optical inspection method applicable to the radiation transmissive object where the light transmission method is applied for obtaining an image from at least a part of an inspection object by use of a radiation source 1 and an image pickup device 2 and the image so obtained is analyzed by use of the image processing method, at least one optical compensation element 7.1 is assembled into a radiation line extended between the radiation source 1 and the image pickup device 2 through the object 3, so as to prevent or brighten an undesirable dark or black spot statistically or dynamically generated on the image of the surface of the inspection object 3.
