PURPOSE: To provide a raster output scanner system in which high speed scanning jitter between polyhedron small surfaces can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: This is an optical scanning system for reducing high speed jitter in an overfilled polyhedron structure including a parallel light beam source 12 modulated into high intensity having a Gaussian intensity profile, polyhedron scanner 24 having plural light reflection small surfaces interposed between the light beam source 12 and a photosensitive medium 32 in an optical path, optical means which sufficiently and uniformly irradiates one small surface 24A, and generates a scanning beam reflected toward the photosensitive medium 32, and at least partially irradiates the adjacent small surface 24B, and means which focuses the scanning beam reflected from the small surface 24A irradiated by the optical means on the surface of the photosensitive medium 32. The optical means is provided with a means 14' interposed between the light beam source 12 and the scanner 24 which changes the intensity profile of the parallel light beam. |
