PURPOSE: To provide a color electric field light emitting display element in which the RC time delay characteristics of an element can be improved, and a contrast can be improved, and a method for manufacturing it. CONSTITUTION: In a color electric field light emitting display element, a metallic auxiliary electrode 107 is formed on a transparent electrode 106, and this metallic auxiliary electrode 107 is formed by forming a metallic thin film with a high melting point having a low electric ratio resistance such as molybdenum in a thickness in a 1000 Angstrom level, and selectively etching this metallic thin film so as to be left with 5-30μm line width on the inter-color boundary parts of each read, blue, and green color filter 201. Also, each filter is directly formed on a circular polarizing plate 202 and then sealed so that an outside light reflected on a metallic electrode 102 can be absorbed by the circular polarizing plate 202.
