A fixed radio station (BTS) in a cellular system contains one TDMA radio receiver per cell, receiving radio bursts on a carrier frequency within a series of time slots. These are transmitted by at least one mobile station (ms1) relative to one of the time slots, leading by a certain time span. To compare the signal duration of the TDMA pulse with the distance away of the fixed station, the time span grows to a maximum value, corresponding to the maximum signal duration inside the cell. The fixed station has at least an extra TDMA receiver operating on a carrier frequency within a different set of time slots and assigns time slots to the mobile stations inside and outside the cell. |
