PURPOSE:To provide the automatic meter reading radio equipment in which a time requiring carrier sensing is reduced in the automatic meter reading radio system utilizing plural radio channels. CONSTITUTION:An exclusive carrier sensing frequency TCXO 124D outputting a reception oscillation frequency signal with a control channel frequency being a carrier sensing frequency is provided and in the intermittent carrier sensing for the control channel, a switch 124C is used to replaces an output signal from a PLL frequency synthesizer circuit 1240 with an output signal of the exclusive carrier sensing frequency TCXO 124D to use the oscillated frequency signal from the exclusive carrier sensing frequency TCXO 124D in place of the oscillated frequency signal from the PLL frequency synthesizer circuit 1240 to reduce the time required for carrier sensing.
