Cooling apparatus with vacuum-insulated panels

A cooling apparatus has a cupboard-like cooling chamber with vacuum- insulated panels as walls. The panels (1) are inherently rigid. Adjacent panels are glued together or connected by mechanical means like clamps. The panels are made of high grade steel plate. A niche for a compressor is made out of similar panels within the chamber. There is a separate base for the unit and a separate cover plate on the top. Neighbouring panels are held together by a frame on at least three sides. The base and cover plate are attached by clamps. The frame has hinges for a door and also has a sealing strip.
