<p>A steam cooking appliance which enables food to be steam cooked while preventing condensate residue to be re-boiled again. The steam cooking appliance (10, 100) of the present invention provides a water containment basin (14) defining a water reservoir and a condensate basin (16) wherein the water reservoir (18) is isolated from the condensate basin by an inner peripheral wall (20). Within a drainage tray (32) with cover (50) and perforated bottom (34) is disposed a food tray (40). Optionally there is provided a removable condensate tray (120) to facilitate easy disposal of the condensate. The steam cooking appliance operates to enable the water reservoir to remain free from condensate residue even after boiling dry.</p> |
