摘要 <p>The method involves identifying luminescent substances by wave-lengths absorbed from a variable frequency pulsed laser source (1,2). The laser operates in the range 390 to 750 nm with a pulse duration below the minimum decay time of the luminescent emission. The laser beam is focused (3) on a sample tube (4) and the maximum intensity/frequency of the resultant emission response is registered by a receiver (6). A range of excitation frequencies together with the associated decay times are registered by the receiver and these parameters are compared with established data and/or used as control signals for a technical process.</p>
