The slider plate for translatory or rotatory slider closures of metallurgical vessels is provided with a passage opening in whose vicinity (in the passage region) the ceramic material used differs from the ceramic material of the outer region of the plate. The plate is characterised by the fact that the material in the passage region (6) has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than the material of the outer region (7).
