Cigarette with removable air/smoke passage barrier

The cigarette comprises a strip of tobacco held together by paper. It is closed at one end by a detachable barrier component (3,6) giving sufficiently high resistance to the flow of air and/or smoke to prevent smoking until it is detached. The component can consist of a piston forming an extension to the cigarette. The cigarette-paper (1) can also enclose the component, having a peripheral weakened line where the tobacco and component butt together. Where a filter is provided, the component can be at its end furthest from the tobacco.
