PURPOSE:To sufficiently remove NOx from a gas in a wide humidity range without need to apply troublesome humidity adjustment to the gas by improving the adsorptivity for the NOx without humidifying even a low-humidity gas. CONSTITUTION:A gas to be treated kept at <=50 deg.C is introduced into an adsorber packed with a carbonaceous adsorbent coated with >=1 kind among the hydroxides, carbonates and nitrates of alkali metals or a mixture of the adsorbent and an uncoated adsorbent to adsorb and remove the NOx contained in the gas at the adsorption temp., then a regenerating gas is introduced into the adsorber, and the adsorber is heated to 150-200 deg.C. The adsorbed gas is desorbed along with the regenerating gas, the adsorber is cooled to the adsorption temp., and the process is repeated to remove the NOx. |
