PURPOSE:To contrive the simplification of the cooling mechanism of a cutting part of a robot and the improvement of easiness of the maintenance by a method wherein the cutting part of a robot for enlarging the diameter of a small diameter pipe is composed of a holder and a cutter, the holder is connected to a cooling water passage and the cutter is provided with circular grooves and small holes for delivering a jet of the cooling water therethrough. CONSTITUTION:A cutting part 15, when supplied with oil pressure, projects and presses a supporting mechanism into contact with the inner surface of an already buried pipe, so that the cutting part 15 is securely held within the buried pipe. A jet of high pressure water is directed from hoses 61 and 62 through the small holes 47a and 47b of a holder 47 and through the circular grooves 43d and 43e of a cutter 43 toward the front face of a diamond bit 45 and then between the stepped faces of the buried pipe in order to cool the cutter 43 and thus permit the buried pipe to be cut. A cutting driving part rotates the cutter 43 by a hydraulic motor and the cutter 43 cuts the inner surface of the buried pipe continuously as it rotates so as to enlarge its diameter. At this time, the cutter 43 is cooled by a jet of the cooling water delivered from the small holes 43e, so that the inner surface of the pipe can be satisfactorily cut. |
