PURPOSE:To obtain a vibrator, etc., having high general applicability which is small in size and flat in shape an is applied to any of a rotary type and a linear type and from which driving force is taken out in any direction and also large driving force is taken out. CONSTITUTION:An elastic body 3 having a space part 2 in the central part and having the shape of a flat quadrangle is installed. Piezoelectric bodies 4 are stuck to the four sides of the elastic body 3. By applying voltage to the piezoelectric bodies 4, strains is generated in the piezoelectric bodies 4 to allow the generation of prescribed vibration in the elastic body 3. By rotating a vibration mode at this time, elliptical vibration is generated in corner parts 3 an central parts of sides 3a of the elastic body 3. Such a vibrator, etc., are used for various kinds of vibrating actuators, and the whole device is formed in small size and flat. Since they have high strength, large driving force is obtained. Therefore, they have high general applicability as a driving source. |
