PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a receiving element used in thermal dye transfer by stretching a cast film formed of a dye image-receiving layer together with thermoplastic resin coextruded simultaneously, and laminating a composite film thus formed to a support. CONSTITUTION: A dye image-receiving layer is coextruded with an orientable thermoplastic resin simultaneously to form a cast film, and then the cast film is stretched to reduce the thickness of the dye image-receiving layer and produce an oriented composite film. Then the oriented composite film thus produced is laminated on a support to manufacture a receiving element used in thermal dye transfer. Specifically after the cast film is stretched, the film is thermoset at the temperature sufficient for crystallizing a polymer while controlling the shrinkage of the film to a certain degree in both directions of the orientation. The film not containing micro-voids can be formed similarly by removing void conductive particles from cores. |
