<p>PURPOSE:To provide a flux which simultaneously satisfies the conditions that the flux for a hot tundish is ought to have and the conditions under which the damage of refractories is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:This flux to be added to the tundish contains CaO, Al2O3, SiO2, MgO and CaF2, of which the compsn. is in a compsn. range of 45 to 65% Cab, 5 to 15% Al2O3, 5 to 15% SiO2, 5 to 25% MgO and 0.5 to 10% CaF2. Further, a continuous casting method comprises adding the flux to be added to the tundish at 0.2 to 2, by weight, of 1 weight of the slag generated in the tundish into the tundish at the time of continuously casting an Al killed molten steel.</p> |
