PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly of a set of oil rings onto a piston by pushing out a side rail ring from the front end of a guide member in such a condition that spacer rings are restrained so as to prevent joint parts of a spacer ring from being superposed with each other at the inner peripheral surface of the guide member. CONSTITUTION:A push rod of a first pressing member is elevated while a pawl piece 103 is stayed at a lower end position, and a guide member 7 is elevated by the urging force of a washer. When the lower end of the guide member 7 is moved above a second spacer retainer 11P, the second spacer retainer 11P is projected inward by an urging force of a spring of a rod linked to the first spacer retainer 116, and when the guide member 7 is elevated up to a first fitting position, a side rail ring R is pushed out from the lower end of the guide member 7, and is assembled in an upper groove part GU. In this case, a second restraining means 117 inhibits joint parts of a spacer ring S from being superposed with each other due to a shock during the assembly of the side rail ring R. |
