摘要 PURPOSE:To produce an optically active phosphonate compound useful, e.g. as a raw material of medicines, perfumes, functional materials, etc., with industrial advantage by asymmetrically hydrogenating a specified oxoalkylphosphonate in the presence of a catalyst composed of a ruthenium- optically active phosphine complex. CONSTITUTION:This optically active phosphonate represented by formula IV (* is asymmetric carbon atom) and useful, e.g. as a raw material of medicines, perfumes and functional materials can be produced by asymmetrically hydrolyzing a compound (e.g. dimethyl 2-oxopropylphosphate) represented by formula I [R<1> is a 1 to 10C alkyl, a (substituted) phenyl or benzyl; R<2> and R<3> are each a 1 to 3C alkyl] in the presence of a catalyst composed of a ruthenium-optically active phosphine complex expressed by, e.g. formula II [A is a tertiary amine; when (y) is 0, (x), (z) and (w) are 2, 4 and 1 respectively. When (y) is 1, (x), (z) and (w) are 1, 1 and 0 respectively; CBP is bisphosphine shown by formula III (R<4> is an aryl or a 3 to 8C cycloalkyl)].
