PURPOSE:To provide a paper sheet detecting method by which a paper sheet jam can be instantly detected, and a safety device using the method. CONSTITUTION:While preventing upward parting of a paper sheet 3 by using wind pressure of an intake air fan 22 and an exhaust air fan 21, the paper sheet 3 is pressed against carrying rollers 14 and 15 and a detecting roller 26, and a paper sheet jam is instantly detected from the movement of the detecting roller 26 arranged in an exposure part 9. |
